EMDR Therapy and young people

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is recommended by the World Health Organisation as an effective treatment for children and teenagers with trauma related problems including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

It can be used to help young people with any problems caused by memories that are still disturbing, whether that be emotionally, or in their thinking or in tension stored in their bodies. There is steadily developing evidence supporting the use of EMDR therapy in young people with a range of mental health problems and across all age groups including preschoolers.
